Mi Gente Vawa Legal Solutions

Mi Gente provides legal advice to immigrants in Denver Judicial Districts 2, 17, and 18 who have suffered significant physical or mental abuse as a result of the crime and who have been or are likely to assist in the investigation and/or prosecution of criminal activity. This provision of U.S. law was created under the Trafficking and Violence Victims Protection Act of 2000, visa U. Federal provisions of the Violence Against Women Act allow victims of crimes without citizenship to apply for themselves to remain in the United States. Obtaining lawful permanent residency allows our clients to leave their abusers without fear of deportation or loss of rights for their children. The provisions of VAWA apply equally to men and women. Mi Gente – VAWA Legal Solutions provides legal advice to spouses, children, and in some cases, parents who have experienced abuse and/or extreme psychological cruelty at the hands of a U.S. citizen (USC) or lawful permanent resident (LPR). This provision of the Act was created under the Violence against Women Act (VAWA).
