All corporate governance and LLM practice students attend a weekly seminar each quarter, led by the Teaching Fellow in Corporate Governance & Practice. The seminar will focus on some issues of corporate and securities law. Students are also encouraged to attend other relevant seminars and symposia related to corporate governance that take place on campus. The Master of Laws (LLM) in Corporate Governance and Practice provides rigorous academic and professional training in corporate governance and transaction law practice. This specialized program aims to provide foreign business and transactional lawyers with a broad base of expertise in areas such as accounting, bankruptcy, business, finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities, taxes, and venture capital that they can use when returning to the practice of law, primarily in their home country. Thus, they can also apply to the JSD program at Stanford (or elsewhere) for the purpose of conducting research in these areas.
